Which local actions remain safe when the remote source is unreachable?
Store-and-forward networking helps deliver evidence through intermittent contacts. Delivery, custody, and payment acceptance have different meanings.
Can both directions recover without losing evidence or exhausting storage?
Mars communication can involve tens of minutes of one-way delay and extended disruption. Messages to nearby stars take years. A protocol cannot shorten light travel time.
What must a region retain and verify during years without a return message?
A funded channel can exchange signed states without waiting for each block. Its dispute deadline still requires a timely local response; a years-distant watchtower cannot supply one.
Can a recipient recover the latest state and challenge an old close before the deadline?
A source debit and destination credit must refer to the same unique export. A missing receipt cannot authorize a second spend. Safe cancellation needs an adopted exclusion rule.
Can every compatible history account for spendable, escrowed, and in-transit value?
Long-lived evidence needs cryptographic continuity. NIST’s post-quantum signature standards inform research; they are not part of Rldcoin’s current adoption.
How can authority migrate before old signatures become unsafe, without rewriting ownership?

Adopted rules. The signed Earth identity defines current value behavior. Source finality uses four signatures; destination imports mature after six successor blocks and retain probabilistic chain risk.
Ground evidence. Node tests, payment receipts, recovery drills, and capacity observations answer bounded engineering questions. Current production deployments and finality keys are controlled by one owner.
Open proposals. Autonomous long-disconnection admission, destination finality, arbitrary multi-Zone transfers, safe cancellation, and post-quantum migration need specification, adversarial testing, external review, and adoption.
A September 28 ground drill confirmed that restarting an unchanged local source mirror restores the freshness flag. The published source also limits each ledger to 100,000 retained entries, including forks. Long-term storage qualification remains open.
